All Saints' Kempston Bell Ringers

Future Ringing Events during 2018 at All Saints' Church, Kempston

The church bells are rung regularly before Sunday morning services and on Wednesday evenings when the local band meets to practise. There are also other occasions when the bells are rung, such as for weddings, funerals and events of national importance.  We occasionally also receive visiting bands of bell ringers.

We usually ring for approximately eight weddings during the year; most of these take place on Saturdays and occasionally there may be one that takes place on a Friday. We normally ring for about half an hour on these occasions. Other arrangements may well materialise, particularly around Christmas and New Year.

Saturday 30th June 2018 - All Saints' Kempston Church Fete - come along and guess the weight of the bell, try your hand at ringing hand bells and see if you have a steady hand trying to navigate around our buzz wire game.

Saturday 21st July 2018 - Quiz night, All Saints' Church Hall, Church End, Kempston. 6.30pm for 7pm start. Teams of up to six people. Tickets cost 8 per person and are available from any of the Kempston Bell Ringers. Supper included but bring your own booze! All proceeds go towards the Kempston Ringers appeal to preserve and replace two 17th Century bells.

Saturday 18th August 2018 - Beguiled by Betjeman, Quarry Theatre at St Luke's. Hear Sir John Betjeman's poetry in mostly musical settings that appeal to our senses of decency, beauty, irony and humour. Tickets from the Quarry Theatre or telephone the box office 01234 362337. In aid of the All Saints' Church Kempston Bells Appeal.
