Augmentation from
8 to 10 Bells
After the
restoration, the ringers and other members of the congregation felt that an
effort should be made to raise the money towards the casting of two new treble
bells to augment the ring to 10 bells. The P.C.C. were approached and agreed to
the scheme. They loaned the ringers £1,650 which was to be repaid over a
four-year period. This enabled an order to be placed with J. Taylor of Loughborough for the two bells. In the event, the ringers raised the money and
repaid the loan in just two years, and on Easter Day, April 19th 1981 the new
bells were dedicated during the morning service.
